Dallas ISD Alternative Certification Program Recruitment Event in El Paso

Dallas ISD is looking for Bilingual, Special Education, Math and Science teachers. Representatives from DISD's Alternaitve Certification Program will be conducting informational sessions and hotel interivews in El Paso from February 2-5, 2012.

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 2.5 Overall GPA and Coursework GPA
  • Must be fluent in English

Where: Wyndham El Paso Hotel, 2027 Airway Blvd.
When: Thursday, February 2, 7 p.m. and Saturday, February 4, 10 a.m. & 2 p.m.
Interviews and Testing: Friday, Saturday and Sunday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

You can obtain a Record of Service or DD-214 over the internet by going to eVetRecs and following the instructions provided.

GI Bill & Troops to Teachers Benefits

If you have remaining benefits under the Montgomery GI Bill, and also are eligible for TTT benefits, you may receive both benefits at the same time. So, if you are participating in a certification program that has been approved for GI Bill, you may receive those benefits in addition to the TTT stipend or bonus. The certification program will process your GI Bill paperwork and the TTT national office will handle the stipend and bonus payments. Contact us for more information.

Policy Statement on Implementing Department of Education Troops to Teachers Operating Rules

Troops to Teachers participants who accept financial assistance in the form of a Stipend or Bonus incur an obligation to teach for three years in schools or school districts that meet specified criteria. Click here to find out more.
